18 people who had been detained in Elazığ on January 6 for "spreading terrorist propaganda" were referred to court after 17 days in custody. 14 out of the 18 detainees were formally arrested, while the other 4 were released on conditions of judicial control.
Those jailed after appearing at court include HDP Elazığ provincial co-chair Ayfer Yılmaz, HDP central district administrator Nihat Akdemir, DBP former provincial co-chair Turan Çelik, HDP provincial administrator Osman Görgülüer and HDP Karakoçan/Sarıça town administrator Yusuf Koç.
AMED
DBP Central Executive Board member Salih Akdoğan, HDP Party Assembly member Bayram Altun, DBP former Party Assembly member Ercan Akyol, politician Mazhar Öztürk and journalist Hasan Alma, who had bee detained during house raids in Amed, Urfa and Antalya on December 30, were referred to court yesterday.
While politician Mazhar Öztürk was formally arrested for alleged "membership to a terrorist organization", the other 4 were released on conditions of judicial control and ban on leaving the country.
