It has been reported that at least 16 soldiers died and many others were injured during the clashes between PKK Kurdish guerrillas and soldiers of Turkish army at Uludere/Hakkari border line two days ago. According to the information from local sources, guerrillas distrained 8 Kalashnikov weapons of Turkish soldiers and many rangers were detained so that they could not interfering with the clashes.

The clashes lasted hours. Turkish army started a new operation on Kato Mountains while sending intense reinforcement units to Uludere region.
