Provincial and district administrators from HDP and DBP, HDP Amed parliamentarians, MEYA-DER representatives, Bismil co-mayors and thousands of civilians carried Arslan’s coffin from the hospital to Sarıtoprak neighborhood in Bismil. Chants of “Martyrs don’t die!” and “Murderer Erdoğan” accompanied this convoy of thousands of people.
During Arslan’s funeral, MEYA-DER Amed co-president Mehmet Yaşar said that Kurdish people have always resisted efforts to break Kurdish people’s will and people had come to Amed rally to state their democratic demands for a free life. Yaşar added that Kurdish martyrs like Arslan have demolished the election threshold.
