220 more youths from Raqqa and surroundings have joined the ranks of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) after completing training.

The training cycle that began under the body of Martyr Faysal Abu Layla Academy in Kobanê 17 days ago has been completed. 220 youths from Raqqa attended the cycle where they received ideological and military training.

A ceremony marking the ending of the training cycle was attended by SDF commanders, representatives and members of the Autonomous Administration and dozens of civilians.

Speaking during the ceremony, SDF commander Haydar Ahmed emphasised that SDF fighters were a hope of freedom for the peoples of Syria. Ahmed called on the youths to join the ranks of Syrian Democratic Forces, stressing that joining the struggle under SDF would the best response to be given to those targeting the Syrian peoples and the democratic nation project.

Following the ceremony which was marked by speeches, newly graduated fighters took their places in the ranks of resistance, pledging to follow in the footsteps of martyrs.
