24 members of ISIS gangs were killed in operations and clashes in the cantons of Kobanê and Cizîrê.
YPG Press Center said that the military campaign Operation Commander Rubar Qamishlo that was initiated by members of the People’s Defense Units along with the Women’s Defense Units May 6 with the objective of entirely liberating the rural district to the west of Canton Cizîrê, Rojava from ISIS threats, endures successfully on the 33rd continuous day.
YPG said that Defense Units launched an operation targeting the ISIS-occupied villages 10 km east and northeast of Silûk town last night, as a result of which the villages of Şara, Rêber, El Wastê were cleansed of gang groups, followed by the liberation of the Aliye village 9 km to the Silûk town this morning.
1 Hammer type armored vehicle, one DShK heavy machine gun carrying vehicle and 2 pick-up vehicles of the gangs were destroyed in the operation during which 22 gang members were killed and one other was captured wounded in a hamlet at the border to North Kurdistan.
One fighter of the Defense Units fell putting up a brave fight in the operation, it added.
YPG Press Center recalled that the resistance of Kobanê that aims to oppose and utterly eliminate the organization of Daesh (ISIS) near the city of Kobanê, continues on the 266th day.
Remarking that Defense Units have repelled the attacks conducted by ISIS groups against several locations to the south of Kobanê early yesterday morning, YPG said the exact number of ISIS casualties couldn't be verified, while a large quantity of ammunition belonging to the gangs was seized.
2 members of the gangs were killed and one motorcycle and a military vehicle belonging to them were damaged in an assault carried out by YPG/YPJ against a gang group on move near the village of Cirin to the east of Kobanê yesterday.
Some other munitions were seized by Defense Units that continue search and mop-up operation in the Bîrevdê village southeast of Kobanê which was liberated the day before.
YPG added that one fighter of the Defense Units fell a martyr after stepping on a mine previously laid by the gangs in this area.
