The YPG/YPJ forces' resistance against ISIS gangs is in its 13th day. Yesterday, as clashes intensified on 3 fronts, 26 ISIS members were killed as gang attacks were repulsed.  

The YPG (People's Protection Units) Press Centre has issued a written statement regarding yesterday's clashes. saying: "in many areas our forces' resistance has broken the back of gang attacks and inflicted serious blows on them."

According to the statement clashes intensified yesterday in the villages of Alişar and Gazika to the east of Kobanê, while in the Gemlik area to the south fierce clashes with gangs that tried to infiltrate the area.  

On the western front clashes took place around the village of Siftek, while in the south west clashes are still continuing in the village of Minazê.

The YPG statement said; "Our forces carried out an operation against gangs based in the environs of the villages of Alîşar and Gazika to the east of Kobanê. A Hammer vehicle was destroyed in this action, after which there were fierce exchanges. 14 gang members were killed."

The statement reported that in the Gemlik area to the south gang members attempting to infiltrate were forced to retreat. 3 gang members were killed.

There were also fierce clashes around the village of Siftek in the west. "Our forces counter attacked, destroying 1 vehicle and damaging 3 others. 9 gang members were killed. And clashes are continuing in places around the village of Minazê in the south west", YPG added.
