5 detained in Güçlükonak and Bulanık

As Turkish police continue the wave of arrests in North Kurdistan, 4 children have been taken into custody in Güçlükonak district of Şırnak and one other in Bulanık district of Muş.

11 people were detained in Fındık town of Güçlükonak district of Şırnak this morning in the framework of the investigation against those who “wrote slogans on the walls to support the protests of 6-8 October in solidarity with Kobane resistance”. Those who were called to the police station are accused of writing slogans on the walls in favour of the YPG, PKK and the Kurdish Leader Abdullah Öcalan. While 7 of the 11 people taken to the police station were released after bearing their testimonies, 4 minors have been sent to Cizre courthouse. Procedures for the children continue in the courthouse.

In the meantime, detentions are also continuing in Bulanık district of Muş. Yesterday evening, a young person by the name of Hebun Topcu was taken into custody while playing football with his friends in Zafer neighborhood. The reason of his detention has not been announced, while he has been reportedly taken to police headquarters in the Güroymak district of Bitlis.
