The cooperation of the Federal Government with the fascist Erdoğan regime is running smoothly. As a spokesman for the Federal Prosecutor's Office announced to DPA, in January and February 2018 about 50 new investigations were initiated on suspicion of links to the PKK. In 2017, there were 136 new procedures. In the years before, there had been a slight increase from 13 in 2013 to almost 36 in 2016.

During a visit by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to his counterpart Sigmar Gabriel in the first week of January, a new beginning had already been signaled in relations between the two countries. Immediately afterwards, new investigative procedures appeared to have been initiated against activists of the Kurdish liberation movement.

The PKK has been banned in Germany since 1993. In the last two years eleven Kurdish activists have been sentenced to between two and three and a half years in the Federal Republic under section 129b StGB.
