52 injured in air crash in Istanbul

A passenger plane with 177 people on board skidded off the runway when landing at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen airport on Wednesday. The plane broke in three pieces, 52 people were injured.

A Pegasus Airlines passenger plane skid off the runway and crashed after landing at Istanbul’s Sabiaha Gökçen airport Wednesday evening. The plane caught fire and broke into three pieces.

According to a statement from the Governor of Istanbul, there were no fatalities. Fifty-two travellers were taken to the surrounding hospitals injured, and a total of 177 passengers were on board.

The airport was closed, flights were diverted to other airports in Istanbul.
