52 institutions and organisations in Europe stand with the HDP

Voters living in Europe call to choose HDP and its presidential candidate Selahattin Demirtaş.

Fifty-two institutions representing “Kurdish, Turkish, Laz, Armenian, Circassian, Yazidi, Syriac, Alevi, Christian, Muslim and the oppressed people” in Europe, have declared their support for the Peoples’ Democratic Party at the forthcoming elections on 24 June.

The organizations have said their support to the HDP and its presidential candidate Selahattin Demirtaş aims to “defeat fascism and a regime that doesn’t listen to people’s voice”.

A crowded selection of representatives of organizations as well as writers, politicians, academics and artists announced their support for the HDP in a meeting at the Democratic Kurdish Community Center in Cologne.

On behalf of the platform, HDK European Spokesperson Demir Çelik read the statement. "We, institutions and organizations living in Europe, want to share with the public opinion our decision to support the HDP in the 24 June elections”.

In the joint statement the 52 institutions and organizations said: “For democracy and liberties, all repressive regimes should be condemned and defeated. The 16-year AKP dictatorship wants to darken our future by institutionalizing fascism by governing the country under Emergency legislation”.

The statement underlined the need for unity among all nations and oppressed people. Because “unity is the tool to beat fascism and to secure a democratic and free life”.

The 52 signatories made the following points to support the HDP and the presidential candidate Selahattin Demirtaş:

* We invite all peoples to unite within the HDP, our common house against the fascist AKP-MHP.
