HDP Co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ, who is held captive by the Turkish state, has received 6-month prison sentence in a case in Van in which she is accused of “opposing the electoral prohibitions”. Yüksekdağ stands trial for a speech she held in Van on 27 October 2015.

The sentence is first of its kind with the accusation of “opposing the electoral prohibitions”.
