Önder: We hope that everything will be arranged within three months

Speaking after the PKK's announcement of a ceasefire, Sırrı Süreyya Önder said they hoped that the situation would be clarified with meetings involving state officials and politicians in the coming weeks.

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament and MP for Istanbul, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who was part of the DEM Party's İmralı delegation, spoke to ANKA news agency after the PKK's announcement of a ceasefire earlier today.

Önder said they had been waiting for the PKK’s announcement, which, he said, would be followed by a series of meetings.

“We hope that everything will be arranged in the next three months,” he added.

The DEM Party MP stated that the hard part is over and continued: “Next week there should be a series of meetings to include state officials and politicians and many things should become clearer and more concrete. We hope that everything will be arranged in the next three months.”

When asked about how the laying down of arms will take place in practice, Önder said, “I can't say anything about it now,” adding, “What matters is the will and determination. The rest can be arranged in any way. If we set our own agenda sincerely and seriously as Turkey, democratic moves capable of changing the world and the region will come one after another.”
