Within the framework of the "Freedom for Öcalan, a political solution to the Kurdish question" initiative launched last year to break the aggravated isolation system imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, actions continue in Latin America.

The Abdullah Öcalan Action Days, which run from 1 to 10 October on the occasion of the anniversary of the international conspiracy, are promoted by the Kurdistan Women's Freedom Movement and solidarity committees and working groups affiliated with the Democratic Modernity Academy.

Articles will be read, and a photo exhibition titled "Fikir, zikir, chalaki" consisting of his words will be held. Seminars on democratic confederalism will also be held and documentaries such as Bakur and Sara will be screened.

Many events such as painting on the streets and universities by graffiti artists have also started. On the occasion of the action days, a video was released by the Medellín Women Weave the Future - Kurdish Women's Movement Solidarity Committee.

Activities for the Action Days in Latin America

Activities to be held within the scope of the Abdullah Öcalan Action Days are as follows:

- A street action to be held in Buenos Aires by the Kurdistan Women's Movement Solidarity Committee today, 2 October at Plazo de Mayo to inform people about the situation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan;

- A photo exhibition titled "Öcalan: The Cycle of Thought, Word and Action" organized by the Kurdistan Women's Movement Solidarity Committee and La Resistencia Cultural House in the capital of Mexico between 3 and 10 October;

-Screening of the documentaries Sara and Bakur on 3 and 10 October;

-A photo exhibition and talk by the Vendaval cooperative in the capital of Mexico between 17 and 20 October,

-A Street Wall Painting action and a talk where Abdullah Öcalan's articles will take place in Bogotá on 10 October. The event is organized by the working groups affiliated with the Democratic Modernity Academy;

-On 11 October in Medellín, Women Weaving Future will organize an action in which Abdullah Öcalan's portrait will be drawn at the University of Antioquia by the Solidarity Committee with the Kurdistan Women's Movement;

-On 9 October, a meeting with indigenous groups resisting protecting their water and lands in Jujuy, Argentina, will be organized by the Women's Movement Solidarity Committee, which will share Abdullah Öcalan's perspectives on ecology;

-On 11 October, an event titled "Democratic Confederalism - Chiapas and Kurdistan" and a photo exhibition titled “Fikir Zikir Çalaki” will be held at La Casa Tomada in Jujuy.
