Activists in Basel organized an action to support hunger strikers Mazlum Dağ and Abdurrahman Er in Hewler Prison.
An action was organized in Basel, to give voice to Mazlum Dağ and Abdurrahman Er, who have been on hunger strike for 59 days since 23 July 2019 in Hewlêr prison, to protest the violations of their rights.
A minute's silence was held to pay tribute to the 14 July Great Death Fast Resistance before the action was held in Claraplatz. The action was organized by the Basel Democratic Kurdish Community Center (CDK).
Ali Matur, a member of the Solidarity Initiative established in Switzerland against the threat of execution of Mazlum Dağ and Abdurrahman Er, said that Leyla Qasıms, Mehmet Hayriler, Kemal Pirs, Mazlum Doğans who were fighting for the freedom of Kurdistan were murdered in the prisons of the colonial powers, and said: "Today, Kurds fighting for the freedom of Kurdistan continue to be imprisoned."
Matur said that Mazlum Dağ and Abdurrahman Er were subjected to inhuman torture in Hewlêr jail and pointed out that the conditions of the two prisoners were reaching a critical stage.
Matur called for the demands of Mazlum Dağ and Abdurrahman Er to be met as soon as possible and for their release.
