A march promoted by TCŞ (Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger) and TekoJIN (Jinên Ciwan ên Têkoşer) was held in Biel to protest the isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
The march, which was held at Biel Bahnhofplatz, saw the participation of Kurds and their friends from Bern and Friborg. The march was organized to respond to the call issued by KCDK-E.
The statement made on behalf of the youth organizations said: "It is known that our people and democracy forces are very sensitive about the health and safety of Leader Apo. We call on everyone to increase the struggle until we get clear information about the health of Leader Apo. There is complete uncertainty about the situation of Rêber Apo, who last spoke on the phone with his brother Mehmet Öcalan on 25 March 2021. Although lawyers have applied dozens of times to go to Imrali, the fascist Turkish state does not allow any visit. This attitude by the genocidal Turkish state increases the concerns of the Kurdish people and their friends, who want to receive news about their health and safety urgently.
As young people, we must fill the streets for Leader Apo. At this point, the Kurdish people should be sensitive and increase the struggle.”
Call to attend central march in Lausanne
Politician Nejdet Atalay said that the freedom of the Kurdish people passed through the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan, and added: “We need to enlarge our struggle and turn our direction towards Kurdistan and Leader Apo. This is only possible with struggle. Leader Apo is the leader of the entire Kurdish people. He is the leader of all oppressed peoples. He must be released. We must fight to free him." Atalay called on everyone to attend the central Lausanne march to be held on 22 July.
