Activists in Catalunya demand Freedom for Öcalan

Different cities around Catalunya protested the isolation of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan at the weekend.

In different cities of Catalunya, people took to the streets at the weekend to protest injustice, prison, isolation and the lack of democracy in the Turkish state. People asked for Freedom for Öcalan in the framework of the campaign 'Time for Freedom'.

    

In Sant Cugat people met in a central square and opened a banner with the slogan "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan - Kurdish revolutionary in prison and isolated for 21 years in Turkey".

    

In Lleida, young people took the streets and painted messages such as "Freedom for Öcalan" and "From Lleida to Kurdistan, together we fight fascism".

   

In Sort, the two artists Xavi Pedemonte (@xavielpetit) and Thor San (@Thorsana) painted a big graffiti on a wall, with an image of the Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and a YPJ fighter.
