Activists in Corbeil demand freedom for Öcalan

TCŞ and TekoJIN members gathered in the Paris suburb of Corbeil and demanded freedom for People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The members of Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger (TCŞ) and Jinên Ciwan ên Tekoşer (TekoJIN), who came together in front of the city hall in Corbeil suburb of Paris, demanded freedom for People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan as part of the “Cenga Azadiyê Serbixî's” initiative.

The young people marched towards the central train station with posters of Abdullah Öcalan and PKK flags. They held a minute’s silence for the Martyrs of the Revolution in Kurdistan.

Activists then made a statement on behalf of TCŞ in front of the municipality building. The statement said: "While Leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan] put up a great resistance on Imrali Island under conditions of aggravated isolation and torture for 24 years as a result of an international conspiracy, the Kurdistan Freedom Movement and the guerrillas do not bow to Turkish fascism and special war policies. International institutions such as the CPT, the Council of Europe and the United Nations do not act against those who display attitudes contrary to international law. Leader Apo, who has not been heard from for two years. Those international institutions allow Turkish fascism to progress with their silence. We have learned that threatening letters were sent to Leader Apo. We Kurdish young people should not consider this as a normal situation.”

The statement issued a call to the youth of Kurdistan in Europe, inviting them to stand up everywhere and mobilize to demand freedom for Abdullah Öcalan.
