A call was made in Geneva to increase the resistance against the attacks on the Kurdish people, and to attend the demonstrations to be held in 8 Swiss cities on 11 June.
The sit-in protest, which has been held every Wednesday since 25 January 2021, to demand the freedom of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan, continues.
In the action held this week, a call was made to participate in the 11 June actions to be held in 8 cities against the genocide and occupation by the Turkish state, especially in Geneva.
A minute's silence was held in memory of the martyrs of the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle in the person of Zanyar Huseynî (Ronî Arbaba), Raman Şêxmus (Mazlum Qamişlo) and Şaban Muhammed (Qendil Dilbirîn), who fell as a result of the invasion attacks of the Turkish army in the Heftanîn area on 11 February 2022.
Geneva Democratic Kurdish Society (CDK) co-chair Erdal Atasoy said that they organized a sit-in for almost a year and a half demanding the freedom of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan, and added that the partnership between the KDP and the Turkish state has continued since the PKK's establishment.
Atasoy said: "Even though it is stated that the PKK was targeted in these invasion attacks, the main target is the achievements made by the Kurdish people. We will continue to support the resistance of the guerrillas against these attacks."
Co-chair Mülkiye Bulut said: “Today is the day to stand shoulder to shoulder with the guerrillas against the use of chemical weapons by the Turkish state. As Kurdish women and Kurdish mothers, we will support the ongoing resistance against these attacks in the four parts of Kurdistan."
The representative of the European Federation of Migrant Workers (AVEG-KON) said:
"The Global Day against the invasion attacks carried out by the Turkish state must be the day to increase our united actions. We call on our people living in Europe, migrant workers and internationalists to take action and stand shoulder to shoulder with the Kurdish freedom forces."
