Aggravated isolation of Öcalan continues

HDP’s İmrali delegation last visited Öcalan on 5 April since when he has not been allowed to receive visits.

As the isolation of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan continues with denial of visits since 5 April, the most recent application of his trustee Mazlum Dinç and his brother Mehmet Öcalan, as well as of the families of other prisoners in Imralı prison was rejected by the authorities.

The Turkish government has aggravated the isolation on Kurdish Leader Öcalan in pre-election period. HDP’s İmrali delegation last visited Öcalan on 5 April since when he has not been allowed to receive visits.

Öcalan’s trustee Mazlum Dinç and his brother Mehmet Öcalan applied to Bursa Public Prosector’s Office to visit the Kurdish Leader in Imralı Island; however their application was rejected, besides that of the families of Nasrullah Kuran, Hamili Yıldırım, Çetin Arkaş, Ömer Hayri Konar and Veysi Aktaş, who are also held in Imralı Island prison.

The reason for the rejection has once again been announced as “the coaster is under repair” by the prosecutor’s office.
