17-year-old Mahsum Ertuğrul in Urfa's Ceylanpınar district was wounded on Tuesday after being hit in the chest by a bullet fired from Al Nusra Front's area in Serekaniye.
The minor who was critically wounded and rushed to Ceylanpınar public hospital was referred to Urfa Research and Training Hospital late Tuesday. The boy has died at the hospital early Wednesday. According to the reports received, the boy was sitting at a park when he was hit by a bullet fired from the border neighborhood of Mehet controlled by the Al Nusra Front.
On the other hand, 15-year-old Mehmet Gündüz in Ceylanpınar's Mehmet Akif Ersoy neighborhood was also critically wounded yesterday after being hit on the head by a bullet fired from Al Nusra Front's area in Serekaniye. The boy in intensive care unit is reportedly not responding to the treatment he is receiving at Urfa Research and Training Hospital.
Early Tuesday afternoon, Syria's Al Nusra Front launched an attack in Serekaniye targeting a patrolling car of Women's Defense Forces (YPJ) affiliated to People's Defense Units (YPG).
Clashes broke out in the city as YPG responded to the attacks of the group. Eight militants of the group were killed and five others were wounded in yesterday's clashes which intensified last night and are still continuing.
In the meantime, YPG units have cleared the Mehet region of gang groups and took the control of the military post and the office of Al Nusra Front near Urfa border early Wednesday morning. Turkish soldiers deployed on the borderline have reportedly left their position. Clashes in the area are continuing.
