Hunger strikes against the isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan are ongoing.
Alevi community in the German city of Dortmund have launched an indefinite and reversible hunger strike to support Leyla Guven; the hunger strike continues on the fifth day and Alevi journalists are participating on their turn.
The hunger strike is led under the motto: “Leyla Güven’s demand is our demand”.
All the associations under the umbrella of FEDA (Democratic Alevi Federation) will be taking turns for the hunger strike which is ongoing at the DAKME community center. Many individuals and groups are visiting the hunger strikers.
The activists on hunger strike, the co-chair of the DAKME, Ayfer Kilinç, journalists Şukru Yildiz and Zeynel Gul issued a statement and said: “On behalf of our journalists, we have joined the hunger strike at the DAKME community center. We support Leyla Guven who launched a hunger strike at a critical time by saying ‘It is a right to resist the atrocity of the tyrant. We are here to support the hunger strike campaign.”
The activists on hunger strike emphasized the need to better perceive the resistance that Leyla Guven is leading.
