The Rubicon (Rouvikonas) group assumed responsibility for the action against the Iranian Embassy. No activists were detained for the action.

According to police sources, a group of ten people with metal rods broke the windows of the guard’s post in the Iranian Embassy in the Psychiko neighborhood. Nobody was hurt in the action.

The anarchist group Rubicon issued a statement online and said they carried out the action “in solidarity with Iranian Kurds”. They also published footage from the action, showing that they first removed the guard from the post before breaking the windows.

Rubicon has been active in Greece in recent years, carrying out many actions against public buildings, corporate headquarters, banks and embassies. The actions aim for material damage only.

The most recent action by the group was against the Austrian Embassy on August 17. The anarchist group carried out an action against the Austrian Embassy to protest the much disputed law the government passed increasing working hours to 12.
