ANF has been inaccessible for a couple of days as the result of attacks by hackers. It is worth noting that the attacks were made particularly before 15th February.

Constantly confronting the censorship of Turkish state since its establishment in 2005, ANF is often exposed to the web attacks carried out by some circles. Broadcasting in three languages Kurdish, Turkish and English today, ANF has an indisputable place in Kurdish media as well as in alternative world media.

It is more difficult than often thought to create an alternative and to open a true news channel to people in the world conditions where the government-media relationship is experienced in the most crude way, however this is not an “excuse” for free press workers not to create true news channels.

Having reached a wide news spectrum in five years, Firat News Agency did not only tried to write the truth in a pressuring environment.

The attacks of the past few days are indeed the best confirmation of the fact that our constant work annoys someone. Obviously it annoyed most those who don't want the truth to be told and the lies to be exposed.

Readers paid the price of these attacks, but should be reassured that we will continue our work to expose lies, denounce abuses and above all present alternatives and new ideas to change the status quo.
