Iran executed another Kurdish activist who was accused of being a member of Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) in Urumiyah.
According to Iranian state television a Kurdish prisoner's death sentence was executed by hanging this morning in Urumiyah prison. The report said Kurdish activist was convicted of killing a border guard six years ago.
The television gave no details of the prisoners identity but it's thought to be Huseyn Xizri who was transferred to Urumiyah last week.
Xizri's family is still awaiting information from Iranian authorities.
Iran executed eigth Kurds for being members of PJAK in the last 3 years. Hasan Hikmet Demir was the first executed prisoner in 2007. Ihsan Fetahiyan, Fesih Yasemini, Farzad Kemanger, Ferhad Wekili, Eli Heydariyan and Sirin Elem Hulu are the other executed prisoners.
Seventeen more alleged PJAK members are on the death row in Iran.
