Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan's lawyers Mazlum Dinç, Raziye Öztürk, İbrahim Bilmez and Nevroz Uysal applied for the third time to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the allegations circulated on social media over the health and safety conditions of their client. The lawyers also applied for an immediate meeting with Ömer Hayri Konar, Veysi Aktaş and Hamili Yıldırım, who are in the same prison.

Kurdish leader’s Mehmet Öcalan and his legal representative Mazlum Dinç, Ömer Hayri Konar’s brother Ali Konar, Hamili Yıldırım's brother Polat Yıldırım and Veysi Aktaş's sister Melihe Çetin also filed an application through their lawyers requesting a meeting with their relatives.

The lawyers demanded that this request be accepted as soon as possible.

In their application, the lawyers stated that the only communication after a family meeting with Öcalan on 3 March 2020 was through a phone call with his brother on 27 April 2020. "All our applications since have been either rejected with unlawful justifications or simply remained unanswered," the lawyers said.

The lawyers recalled that no communication with Imrali was allowed even under pandemic conditions that posed a threat to the health of their clients; “The conditions on the island, brutal isolation practices, the long detention period and current conditions are systematic practices that violate the prohibition of torture. The Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) reports that revealed violations and recommended improvements on Imrali have been ignored by the authorities.”

The application said, “It has been observed that serious claims were made regarding the physical integrity and life of our client on some internet news sites and social media accounts on 14.03.2021. It is a fact that the conditions of isolation cause such news to appear. In order to relieve the serious concerns for us and his family, we need to have a direct meeting immediately. Hence, we demand that the families and lawyers meet our client as soon as possible.”
