Among 16 BDP voters who were taken into custody on 22 December as a result of village raids in Bingöl, 12 have been arrested and sent to prison.
Following the gendarmerie raids in Yigitler, Kýzýlaðaç, Aþaðý Yaðmurlu, Xaruk, Kelkoç and Seris villages of Karlýova and Adaklý districts of Bingöl, 16 civilians, including several village headmen, were taken to Bingöl Gendarmerie Station Command for an unknown reason on 22 December. Detainees were referred to Bingöl Court after the legal proceedings.
Following the testimony at the public prosecution office of Bingöl, 16 detainees were referred to court with a demand for arrest. While four of the detainees were released on conditions of trial without arrest, 12 were remanded in custody for allegedly “aiding an illegal organization”.
On the other hand, 15 students were taken into custody since last night as a result of house raids in Dargeçit (Kerboran) district of Mardin.
Detained students, whose ages range between 12 and 17, were reportedly taken into custody on grounds of joining protest actions and ceremonies of HPG guerillas at different dates. Students are held at Dargeçit Security Directorate.
