At least 10 civilians kidnapped in Tartus and Latakia

Armed groups affiliated with the Damascus government raided homes in the rural areas of Tartus and Latakia and kidnapped at least 10 people.

The attacks by groups affiliated with the Damascus government on civilians living in coastal cities of Syria continue. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that armed groups affiliated with the Defense and Interior Ministries affiliated with the Damascus government raided the village of Hebaba in the Direkiş city of Tartus. The groups, which damaged many homes and destroyed public property, forcibly detained 10 civilians and took them to an unknown location.

In the village of Idiye in the Cebla city of Latakia, forces affiliated with the government raided a home and damaged public property. The attack caused fear and anxiety among the villagers.

Alevite sheikh kidnapped

According to the latest information reported by SOHR, last night a patrol affiliated with the Damascus government forcibly took the Alawite sheikh Salih Al-Mensour, who lives in the village of Ras Al-Ein in the countryside of Jablah, from his home and took him to an unknown location. According to sources, the patrol members insulted Sheikh Al-Mensour and his family and tried to humiliate the religious figure of Arab origin. The villagers prevented the armed groups who wanted to kidnap the other family members.
