Autonomous Administration delegation meets Swedish officials

A delegation of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria has visited Swedish officials.

A delegation of the Autonomous Administration North and East Syria held meetings with politicians and diplomats in Sweden to discuss the fight against terrorism, the security of the region, and the crimes committed in the regions occupied by the Turkish state and its mercenaries.

The delegation consisted of Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria co-chair Bedran Çiya Kurd, Autonomous Administration Europe Representative Ebduselam Mistefa, Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) member Eli Rehmun and Autonomous Administration Sweden Representative Şiyar Eli.

The delegation was welcomed by Kenneth Forsland, chair of the Swedish Parliament Foreign Relations Committee, Anders Osterby, chair of the Swedish Socialist Party Foreign Relations Committee, Kader Kosogi, mayor of Stockholm, Anna Sodertrum, director of the Balmanya Centre, and Thomas Humberberry, member of the Swedish Parliament Human Rights Committee.

'WE WILL NOT FORGET YOUR FIGHT'

“We are grateful for the relations we have established with you. We will not forget the sacrifices you have made for the fight against terrorism and the security of the region. You have undertaken a great responsibility,” Forsland said.

The officials then evaluated the recent developments in Syria and North-East Syria, including the crimes committed by the invading Turkish state. They also emphasized that a joint work should be carried out to ensure the security of the region.

'TURKISH STATE PROMPTS A CIVIL WAR'

Bedran Çiya Kurd, co-chair of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, also spoke at the meeting and said, “The main cause that concerns everyone is the war against terrorism and the policy pursued by the invading Turkish state in the regions especially in Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spi. The Turkish state carries out a policy of Turkification and demographic change in the regions it has occupied. The local people in the region are forced to migrate. We hope to achieve peace and security together.”

Pointing to the negative role of the Turkish state in Syria, Bedran Çiya Kurd continued, “The Turkish state wants to revive the Ottoman Empire through its policy in the region. Furthermore, it wants to destroy the security of the region and to prompt a civil war by causing strife in the region. Its main purpose is to remove solutions to the Syrian crisis.”

The delegation is expected to visit several European countries and hold meetings with the Rojava people living in Europe.
