Azadiya Welat worker sentenced to ten months in prison
Emine Kutal, a worker with Azadiya Welat newspaper who was detained by police on 23 December 2008 while delivering the newspaper, has been sentenced to 10 months in prison for allegedly "making propaganda for an organization".
The case against Emine Kutal and Özgür Halk (Free People) newspaper employee Seyran Er opened in Ýzmir 8. High Criminal Court for allegedly "making propaganda for the organization” has been concluded. While the defendants and lawyers didn’t attend the trial on 28 December 2010, the court’s justified decision was conveyed to defendants. The court board decided on separation of the case for Er due to inadequate interrogation while giving 10 months imprisonment sentence for Kutal with the allegation "making propaganda for an organization".
