Bans and restrictions are some of the methods used by the AKP government to keep people virtually in an open prison. Since 2016, when the State of Emergency (OHAL) was declared after the failed coup, entire regions in Kurdistan have been subjected to bans and restrictions.

The ban on actions and activities in Hakkari and its districts has been extended by the governor's office for another 15 days.
The ban has reached day 923 and will continue until 13 September.
