Two meetings and screenings about Kurdistan in Galicia

The group Baran Galicia will organize two meetings and screenings about Kurdistan in Santiago de Compostela and Vigo.

Baran Galicia will organize two meetings and screenings about Kurdistan on Thursday 29 June and Monday 3 July in Santiago de Compostela and Vigo.

Presenting the events, the organizers said: “When we talk about the Kurdish people, we are talking about the largest people without a state. Of a people divided by borders, and oppressed by the States that had absorbed the territory. Because of all this, we are also talking about a people in resistance, which has become an inspiration for the current struggles.”

The organizers added: “These days we intend to bring a bit of that revolution to Galicia, also creating a space of solidarity. We will focus on the Kurdish territory of Rojava, where the Kurdish revolutionary dream materialized, where the women's revolution, ethnic diversity, autonomy and environmentalism prevail. We will talk about the struggle that transformed the society of Rojava, a society that implemented a radical democracy that gave voice and power to all people, regardless of their gender, religion or ethnicity.”
