Basque Abertzale Left condemns Roboski massacre

The Basque Abertzale Left has released a statement to denounce "once more the attitude of the Turkish State towards the Kurdish people".

The statement underlines that "the Turkish government has recognized the killing of 35 civilians in an air attack towards 'suspected PKK members'".

The Abertzale Left, says the press release "can only subscribe Ms Gultan Kisanak, BDP’s spokesperson, words: “This is a massacre,” Turkish “warplanes bombed a group of 50 of its citizens to destroy them. This is a war crime and a crime against humanity.”"

The statement continues by stressing that "The shoot to kill strategy of Turkish armed forces constitutes a crime against international law and International Community should act against these actions."

The Abertzale Left wants to stress "once again that both in Kurdistan and in the Basque Country the only way for the resolution of the conflict is dialogue, negotiation and agreement, only through the respect of the will of the people can be a just and lasting peace achieved. Abertzale Left calls on the Turkish State's establishment to review their position and to make a bet for negotiations".
