Abdulkarim Omar, European Representative of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), met with the Basque Parliament Committee for External Affairs in the capital city Vitoria on Friday.
The meeting was attended by the Basque Parliament Committee for External Affairs President Derve Rakel, and Molina Pėrez, Iñaki Aguirre Arizmendi, Ìñigo Martinez Zaton, Ohiana Etxebarrieta and Txarli Prieto.
On Thursday, Omar met with political party representatives in the Parliament of Pamplona, Arantxa Biurrun, Iñaki Iriarte, Javi AArakama, Marisa De Simon, Laura Aznaly, Patricia Perales and Isabel Podemos.
The latest developments in the region, the political, economic and humanitarian obstacles facing the Autonomous Administration, the threat of ISIS and the importance of its persecution, and the presence of thousands of ISIS members in Hol and Roj Camps were among the topics discussed during meetings.
Other topics of discussion were the Turkish state’s attacks and threats against North-East Syria and targeted attacks against the civilian population, commanders of the SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) and representatives of the Autonomous Administration.
The parliamentarians Omar met with stated that international powers should fulfil their responsibilities and support the Autonomous Administration.
