Calling on people to boycott the referendum on constitutional amendments, BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) announced it will unveil the alternative new democratic constitution it prepared to the public through public meetings, panels and local media.

BDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaþ spoke to ANF after the MYK (Central Executive Board) meeting as follows; “We will state that each boycott vote means new constitution and peace. The more boycott votes we have, the more call for peace and new constitution it means. We trust our people, voters and ourselves.”

The referendum process, alternative constitution works, practicability against operations -for solution and election preparations were discussed at the meeting. The meeting ended after nearly 8 hours of discussion with the decision of organizing a special commission for the constitutional referendum.

The commission will organize various public meetings, panels and demonstrations and it will ask people to boycott the referendum.

Among other things, BDP will expand the alternative democratic constitution schema it had designed previously, design related prospectuses, special organizations in metropolitan cities and form a commission in the interest.
