BDP Co-Chairs Filiz Kocali and Hamit Geylani gave a briefing to foreign press members and committees who came to the region to follow the elections. While BDP Co-Chair Filiz Kocali asked the committees to release the facts to the world opinion, Hamit geylani called attention to discussions on executions and remarked that owe Kurds an apology. geylani said; The basic demand of the Kurdish people is Democratic Autonomy".
BDP Co-Chairs Filiz Kocali and Hamit Geylani gave a briefing to foreign observers in the region at Cegerxwin Cultural Center which was also attanded by the Block's Diyarbakýr candidates Nursel Aydogan, Altan Tan, Serafettin Elci and arrested candiidate Hatip Dicle's Deputy BDP Provincial Chair M. Ali Aydýn. Making the first speech of the briefing, Filiz Kocali drew attention to the importance of the election and noted that the Kurdish people is closer to the solution than ever. Kocali called attention to the struggle given at Democratic solution Tents since the Newroz and expressed that the people were expopsed to violent attacks while presenting the 10 basic demands. Kocali stated that the Turkish election Board remitted the veto decision on independent candidates owing to the will of Kurdish people who have been on streets and haven't gone to their houses since the Newroz.
Noting that the unity of people is born by the independent candidates who ensured the Kurdish national unity, Kocali noted that this alliance will continue until Kurds gain their freedom. Kocali called attention to the policies of the AKP which doesn't develop any solution to the Kurdish problem. Kocali added; "The word 'Kurd' is not mentioned in any law of the state. If you base on the state, you will conclude Kurds don't live in this country. Following the electionss, we will interfere in the process of a new constitution and our people will never allow for a constitution which exclude us."
Kocali ended her speech asking the commissions and press members to reflect the facts to the world opinion.
Speaking after, BDP Co-Chair Geylani remarked that Prime Minister Erdogan's statements before the elections terrorize the electoral process. Geylani listed what need to be done just after the elections as follows; "We demand everyone to advance their democratic reflexes for peace. The peace on four parts of Kurdistan concerns the peace in the Middle East. What happened should stay in the past. The war period must end and a new process should begin as of June 13. After the elections, Erdogan must firstly apologize from this people. He owes this people an apology. Geylani drew attention to the recent discussions of the AKP and MHP about death penalty and noted that Kurds are threatened with the policy of capital punishment.Gaylani said; "These discussions took place over Dear Abdullah Ocalan whom the Kurdish people name as their leader. The basic demand of the Kurdish people is a new constitutiion which will include Democratic Autonomy."
