BDP Politics Academies in full compliance with laws

All arrangements of BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) Politics Academies, which are shown as linked to the KCK (Kurdish Communities Union), are in full compliance with the laws.

The most recent KCK operation in Istanbul is grounded on the allegation that Politics Academies are a “wing of the KCK and provide education for the organization”. However, including the establishment and functioning, all steps of the academies are arranged in conformity with laws. The regulations of the academies base on the BDP regulation.

Politics Academies provide education for party members under the Article 81 of the BDP regulation with the title “party education schools and academies”. A part from the mentioned article says the followings; “One of the most basic goals of the party is to contribute to the social transformation by creating members who act with the awareness of their rights and freedoms, makes an effort to ensure change and transformation through organizing in all areas of life and interiorize democracy as a life style and culture. In respect to this, one of the basic frameworks will be an intensive, widespread and efficient way of education which is the major instrument of changing individuals and the society. The targeted education is grounded on an academic level in the fields of politics, local subjects, women and youth.”

In a meeting on 11 April 2010, BDP Party Council decided to open party education schools and academies and authorized MYK member and Education Commission Chairman Hüseyin Cengiz to conduct all kind of legal proceedings in this respect. The decision and the Regulation of BDP Education Schools and Academies were approved in the same meeting.

Deputy Chairman Nihat Oðraþ also sent the regulation to the Supreme Court of Appeals on 26 May 2010.
