BDP remembers Circassian genocide
In a statement on the Circassian Genocide Memorial Day, May 21, Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) headquarters expressed condolences to the Circassian people for the genocide in which two million people were massacred by the Russian Czarist army in 1864.
BDP described the genocide as a crime against humanity and one of the most bloody and cruel genocides and tragedies witnessed in the human history.
Remarking that the Circassian people were massacred again and again for defending the independence of their lands and citizens, BDP said that “Circassians were exiled from their territory as a result of a cooperation with the Ottoman and Britain Empires and one third of these people died of hunger and disease on their ways to Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon and the Balkans”.
BDP ended its statement by calling for solidarity and resistance against all genocides.
