BDP: This is a war against those demanding rights
The second Extraordinary Congress of BDP Diyarbakýr Provincial Organization began with the participation of DTK Co-Chair Aysel Tuðluk, BDP MP for Diyarbakýr Nursel Aydoðan, Metropolitan Mayor Osman Baydemir, BDP district chairs, ESP, DÖKH, TUHAD-FED, TUHAD-DER, MEYA-DER, HAK-PAR, TDÞK, Chamber of Architects and many others including members of Peace Mothers Initiative. “Freedom, not isolation; negotiation, not war” and “We build the Democratic Autonomy” was written on the banners hung in the congress hall.
Speaking at the Congress, Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Co-Chair Gültan Kýþanak responded to Prime Minister Erdoðan who “triggered fascism and racism” she remarked. Kýþanak stated the happenings were not “terrorism” but “a war between those who demand rights and those who don’t give them”.
Kýþanak began her speech by bowing respectfully to the brave leaders who paid prices along the Kurdish history and enabled the Kurdish people to come to these days. Kýþanak said the followings; “We are going through hard days when we bury our dears every day. Some people are trying to take our people and honor captive and to push this people into desperateness. Despite all these, we will be standing on our feet and resist. The AKP, Prime Minister and state mindset tell us to ‘close the doors of democratic politics and to surrender to the system’. They are dragging young people into death.”
Kýþanak continued stating that the BDP buildings and Kurdish students were attacked as the Prime Minister appeared on TV and spoke to trigger fascism and racism. “The Prime Minister is committing a racism and hate crime. He will sooner or later answer for this”, added she.
Responding to Prime Minister’s criticism to BDP, Kýþanak said the followings; “ The Prime Minister wants us to define this event as terror but this is a war lived because you deprive a people of their basic rights and freedoms and suppress their demands through violence. You can’t make us believe that this is a ‘terror’ while you are using warplanes in operations. You are the reason of this war and these losses. These people will never abandon their rights and freedoms unless you desist from this process.”
Kýþanak added that they insisted on democratic politics and peace despite all cruelty applied in this critical process.
