Block deputies will meet in Diyarbakýr tomorrow

Labor, Democracy and Freedom Block deputies will not take part to the swearing ceremony at the parliament tomorrow. Instead they will meet in Diyarbakýr. The Block deputies have decided to boycott parliament as a response to the decision by the Supreme Election Board (YSK) to strip Diyarbakýr MP Hatip Dicle of his mandate. To strengthen the boycotting decision the courts ruling against the release of the 6 Block deputies currently in prison in the context of the so called KCK trial.

The opposition party, CHP (Republican's People Party) have decided to go to parliament tomorrow, although it is not clear yet whether they will join the swearing ceremony. Two of the CHP deputies will remain in prison, following the rejection of the release request by a Court in Istanbul. CHP leader Kemal Kýlýçdaroðlu has called a press conference tomorrow at 2.30pm.
