Books are the new targets of the so-called KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) operations. A great number of books approved by the Ministry of Culture have been seized during the operations carried out on a mandate by the 10th Istanbul High Criminal Court on 13 January in several institutions in 17 cities, including Peace and Democracy Party (BDP), municipalities, Human Rights Association (ÝHD), Kayapýnar Cegerxwîn Youth Cultural Centre and Public Workers' Unions' Confederatiob (KESK).

Thirty four books with revenue stamps from the Ministry of Culture have been seized in Cegerxwîn Youth Cultural Centre alone, including 29 books by sociologist Ýsmail Beþikçi, 1 book by PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan and 2 books by Lazarev.
