Border village under siege by Turkish army

The village of Miseynter in Suruç, where a border vigil has been maintained for several days, has been encircled by the Turkish army, which is demanding the removal of tents.

As the resistance in Kobanê enters its 66th day, Turkish armoured vehicles have entered the village of Miseynter, which has been the scene of a border vigil. Soldiers demanded that tents be removed from the village within 30 minutes.

HDP MPs Nursel Aydoğan, Sabahat Tuncel, Ayla Ata Akat and İbrahim Ayhan then held a meeting with officers. Dozens of soldiers in 7 armoured vehicles and a water cannon threatened reporters, saying: "This is a war zone. Filming is prohibited. You must leave.” The cameras of foreign activists were seized and pictures deleted.
