CÎK calls on Barzani and southern Kurdistan government to stop working with Turkey

The Islamic Community of Kurdistan (CÎK) called on Barzani and the southern Kurdish government to hold Turkey accountable for the drone killings of the civilian population and to prevent an inter-Kurdish war.

After the visit of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to Hewlêr (Erbil) and Baghdad, the Islamic Community of Kurdistan (Civaka Îslamîya Kurdîstan, CÎK) appealed to Mesud Barzani and the government of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq to prevent an inter-Kurdish war and to take action not to ally with the murderers of Kurds.

After talks in Baghdad, Foreign Minister and former head of the secret service Fidan met with KDP leader Mesud Barzani, KRI President Nechirvan Barzani and Prime Minister Mesrur Barzani. At the same time as the visit, several people were killed in Turkish drone strikes in southern and western Kurdistan (Başûr and Rojava).

In a statement published on Friday, the Islamic association CÎK condemned both the attacks by Turkey and the lack of reaction from the southern Kurdish government.

"Erdoğan's favourite"

The statement said: “The Turkish state is carrying out massacres in all parts of Kurdistan, politically, socially, culturally, linguistically and physically. Turkey uses all means to destroy the Kurds. In the north, south and west of Kurdistan, people are killed by drones every day, including media workers, women and children. The Turkish state makes no distinction between Yazidis, Alevis, Yarsan and Muslims. Turkey is massacring us all, and the international powers aren't saying a word about it. Many of them provide active support, others remain silent, becoming partners in these atrocities. Hakan Fidan, the former head of MIT, the new foreign minister, the friend of the gang leader, has traveled to southern Kurdistan to let the Kurds fight each other. At the same time, he continues to massacre civilians in Southern Kurdistan."

Appeal to Barzani and the Kurdish Regional government

The Islamic Community of Kurdistan issued an urgent appeal to KDP President Mesud Barzani and the southern Kurdish government. "Give up this unfortunate and unjustified attitude that will destroy the Kurds and Kurdistan. While the Kurds are so close to their freedom, the Kurdish regional government is acting in partnership with their sworn enemy, the Turkish state. How quickly they forgot Saddam's cruelty. How can they forget Halabja? We call on all Kurds to unite. Let's fight together against the Turkish state. If we defeat the Turkish state, all Kurds and even the Middle East will be saved from conflict and destruction."
