Call for Central Anatolian Kurds to vote

The Platform of Central Anatolia Kurds (Platforma Kurdên Anatolia Navîn) has issued a statement calling on the Kurdish people living in Central Anatolia to vote for the HDP at the 7 June elections.

The statement stressed that the peoples of Turkey will vote in the most important elections in the history of the Turkish Republic, adding that there is now an opportunity created by the HDP for the solution of various problems of the people, including primarily the problems of poverty, of identity and freedom of expression.

The statement said every vote is important as it will contribute to a great change in the country, adding that votes for the HDP are to stop the planned, organised assimilation policies imposed on the Kurdish people living in Central Anatolia. The statement stressed each vote for the HDP is of vital importance for the Kurds, also calling on the Kurdish people living in Europe to vote for the HDP.

The statement of the platform called on Kurdish people living in Europe to go the Turkish consulates and vote for the HDP for the creation of a democratic Turkey, adding that Central Anatolian Kurds living in Europe can go to the offices of the platform in various cities to receive assistance for voting and transportation to the polling stations.

The statement ended by strongly urging Kurdish people to vote and reiterated the importance of the 7 June elections for the future of the country as well as of the Kurdish people.
