Call for participation in Paris march on 23 December to demand accountability for massacres

TJK-F and CDK-F called for participation in the march to be held in Paris on 23 December to demand accountability for the Paris massacres and an end to the threats and killings of the Kurds.

The Kurdish Women's Movement in France (TJK-F) and the Democratic Kurdish Council in France (CDK-F) organised a press conference to mark the upcoming anniversary of the murder of Evîn Goyî (Emine Kara), one of the pioneers of the Kurdish Women's Movement, artist Mir Perwer (Mehmet Şirin Aydın) and patriot Abdurrahman Kızıl in the French capital Paris on 23 December 2022.

The press statement in Kurdish, Turkish and French was made at the Ahmet Kaya Kurdish Cultural Centre where the massacre took place. CDK-F Diplomacy Spokesperson Berivan Firat, CDK-F Council Co-Spokesperson Abdullah Ülmez, KCDK-E (Democratic Kurdistan Society Congress in Europe) Council Co- Spokesperson Murat Ceylan and TJK-F Spokesperson Cemile Eminoğlu attended the press conference.

CDK-F Council Co-Spokesperson Abdullah Ülmez, who made the statement in Turkish, said the following:

"On 9 January 2013, in Paris, the capital of France, Sakine Cansız, one of the founders of the PKK, Fidan Doğan, the KNK representative in Paris, and Leyla Şaylemez, a member of the youth movement, were murdered by the Turkish intelligence service MIT. On the tenth anniversary of this massacre, another massacre was carried out on 23 December 2022 by Kurdish enemies, by terrorist forces emboldened by the injustice of the French state, claiming the lives of Evin Goyi, Mir Perwer and Abdurrahman Kızıl. On the tenth anniversary of the first massacre, French justice and politics have written it down in history. Evin, who saved the world from the barbarism of ISIS, was killed in this way in front of the eyes of the world. In this massacre, the free woman who was created with the philosophy of Leader Apo (Abdullah Öcalan) and who took the steps of 'Jin Jiyan Azadî' (Woman, Life, Freedom) with Evîn's actions, the stubborn and sacred patriotism of Abdurrahman and the culture of Kurdistan with the voice of Mir Perwer were targeted. However, the calculations of the enemies of the Kurds were disrupted by the Kurds and their friends based on the attitudes of Sara, Rojbîn, Ronahî, Evîn, Abdurrahman and Mir. The Kurdish people and their friends became the voice of Leader Apo's resistance and Kurdistan's struggle.

On the first and 11th anniversaries of the Paris massacres, we call on the French state to take an urgent stand against the Turkish state and stop the killing of Kurds if it wants to avoid going down in history as a collaborator of the murderers. In particular, the fascist Turkish state and those who occupy the territory of Kurdistan accuse Kurdish organisations and politicians who carry out their democratic work in Europe and either kill or threaten them. Therefore, we again urge the European states to uphold the values of freedom and democracy, to recognise and support the legitimate struggle of the Kurdish people. If the fascist Turkish state and all Kurdish-hostile states kill us today, they may kill you tomorrow, as in the Charlie Hebdo and Bataclan cases.

In this year, when the campaign 'Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, A Political Solution to the Kurdish Question’ was launched by the friends of the Kurds in 74 countries, our struggle against these massacres will result in freedom and will be the legacy of our martyrs.

We respectfully call on the general public, our friends and our own people to hold the Paris massacres to account and to end the threats and killings of Kurds."

We will commemorate our martyrs Evin Goyi, Abdurrahman Kızıl and Mir Perwer together with our people in France in front of the Kurdistan Information Office in Paris Gare du Nord at 11 am on 23 December 2023.

As TJK-F and CDK-F, we are starting to work on the investigation and accountability of the Paris massacres."
