Call to join Peace Rally in Amed on 1 September

The organizing committee of the 1 September World Peace Day in Diyarbakır urged everyone to give a voice to peace at the rally and invited journalists to be a voice for peace.

The HDP and civil society organizations have called on everyone to join the rally for Peace to be held on September 1, World Peace Day in in Diyarbakır.

"A democratic solution for a honorable peace" is the slogan chosen for the rally, said the organisers adding that "the legitimate and democratic struggle of the people will continue in every field until the legitimate and freely elected mayors are able to retake their charge now being usurped by State-appointed trustees."

The organisers added: "It doesn't matter whether the HDP or other parties win the Kurdistan municipalities, the State does not recognize the will of the Kurdish people in the local administrations, no matter which party has won the elections. The whole world knows this truth."
 
Call issued to the press
 
A call was made by the organisers to the press. "Forty years of war in the region has been going on. - said the organisers - The State tried to intimidate the Kurdish people by appointing trustees and carrying out war policies. We believe that everyone should give voice to peace. We call in particular to the press to give voice to this peace rally and side with peace."
 
HDP co-chair Temelli to attend the rally
 
HDP co-chair Sezai Temelli and dismissed co-mayor of Amed Metropolitan Municipality Adnan Selçuk Mızraklı will both attend the rally.
