On Thursday, January 23, the Military Operations Teams TOL of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) conducted a security operation in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, targeting a cell affiliated with the remnants of the Baathist regime and National Defense mercenaries.
In a statement about the operation, the SDF Press Center said that the cell was involved in inciting unrest, spreading chaos, and carrying out attacks against our forces and civilian institutions.
“Following extensive intelligence gathering on the cell’s activities and movements, our forces raided the cell hideouts and captured four operatives of the cell," SDF said.
The statement added: “Our SDF forces reaffirm their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the security and stability of the region. We will take decisive action against anyone attempting to sow disorder, threaten civil peace, or undermine stability.”
