Canadian MP visited Kurdish hunger striker Iba in Toronto

International solidarity with the Kurdish hunger strike resistance is growing.

Journalist Yusuf Iba is on day 117 of indefinite hunger strike in Toronto, Canada demanding the end of the isolation imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The Kurdish journalist continues his action with determination despite his deteriorating health.

Iba’s protest was brought to agenda of the Canadian Parliament where a call for support with Iba and other hunger strike activists was issued.

Conservative Party MP Tom Kmiec and a delegation accompanying him visited Iba on Friday. The Canadian MP stated that he would submit a dossier on Iba’s action to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and would discuss the issue directly with the ministry officials. Kmiec noted that he would follow up the issue to make sure that pressure is put on the Turkish state regarding the massive hunger strike protest.
