Republican People's Party (CHP) Group Deputy Chair Ali Mahir Başarır, CHP MPs Veli Ağbaba, Sezgin Tanrıkulu, Ahmet Baran Yazgan visited the area where 15 people lost their lives in a fire between Amed and Mardin on the night of 20 June paid condolence visits to the families of the victims.
The delegation then visited Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, welcomed by Co-Mayors Serra Bucak and Doğan Hatun and held a meeting with them.
Serra Bucak thanked the CHP delegation for their visit and emphasised the importance of solidarity after the deadly fire.
Drawing attention to the damage caused by the trustees in the city, CHP MP Sezgin Tanrıkulu said, "There should not be a trustee appointment again. This practice is not acceptable anymore and it puts the Kurdish question, which is one of the main issues of Turkey, into a further deadlock. We are and will be endeavouring against this practice."
