Civil disobedience by the youth in Amnesty International office

20 young Kurdish women and men gathered in the Dortmund offices of Amnesty International for a civil disobedience action.

Kurdish youth started a civil disobedience action in the Dortmund offices of Amnesty International yesterday at 18:00. The 20 young Kurdish men and women also submitted a folder to Amnesty International.

The folder includes information on the hunger strikes started under the lead of DTK Co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Guven demanding an end to the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan and his health, safety and freedom.

The youth later turned the civil disobedience into an occupation, demanding that the Amnesty International issue an official statement.

The youth have 4 demands from the AI:

-Issue a statement on the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the indefinite nonalternating hunger strikes demanding an end to it.

-Visit hunger strikers in Strasbourg and interview every one of them.

-Call on the Council of Europe Committee for the Prevention of Torture to fulfill their duty.

-Call on Turkey to accept the demands of the indefinite nonalternating hunger strikers and immediately end the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan.
