Clashes have been going on around Efrin, where YPG (People's Defense Units) have been fighting with al-Qaeda linked armed groups. 

The YPG stated that on Thursday evening and Friday morning clashes have been going on around the villages of Ziyaret and Xurêpke, which Kurdish forces are fighting to take under control.  

On 27-29 October clashes were registered around the villages of Cilbir, Bênê, Basilê, Akibe, Mahrezke and Qestel Cindo (Efrin) and it is understood that the islamist groups have suffered heavy losses. The YPG said at least 86 islamic militants have died in combat while 7 Kurdish guerrillas have lost their life in the same clashes.
